OUR STORY
Founded in 2005.
Re-established in 2023.
Kim Dilworth spent years in front of a television camera as a news reporter. Today she tells a different kind of story — one told with camels, sheep, donkeys and dusty hands. Together with her husband Mike, they run the Bible Zoo, a small, family-run Christian ministry on a ten-acre farm in Oregon City, Oregon.
The idea is simple: when a child feels a camel's warm breath or holds a chick in cupped hands, the stories in Scripture stop being far away. God's creation becomes proof of God's love and purpose something a child can touch.

MEET KIM
The reporter who became a storyteller.
Kim writes children's books that connect each animal on the farm to a Bible story beginning with Maggie the camel and Cupcake & Bailey, with eight more titles on the way. She writes them the same way she gives tours: kneeling down, eye level, talking to kids like they matter.

Why we're different
Biblical animals only.
There are plenty of petting zoo"s. As far as we know, The Bible Zoo is one of the only animal ministries in the country built entirely around Scripture...every animal here earns its place by appearing in a specific Bible story or verse.
The camels carried gifts to a King. The donkey carried Him into Jerusalem. The lamb belongs to the Shepherd of Psalm 23; the pigs come from the parable of the prodigal son; the hen gathers her chicks in Matthew 23; the dove brought word that the flood was over. Nothing on this farm is decoration.
